My Professional Journey with IBSL – Building Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership
In the rapidly changing banking and finance industry, continuous professional development and efficient professional networks are the determinants of success (Wilson, 2012). My professional and educational life has been impacted heavily by the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL), complementing my MBA studies and contributing to improved performance as a Junior Executive Officer in Sampath Bank. Established in 1964, IBSL is the industry body for the financial sector in Sri Lanka (IBSL, 2024). It strives to improve industry standards through education, training, and certification of professionals. Supported by program sponsorship from leading financial institutions, IBSL continues to produce competent professionals to manage the new challenges in the financial services sector (Perera, 2021).
